Indoor meetings will be held on the third Saturday of the month, unless otherwise notified, from September to May; field trips will be on the first Saturday of the month as listed. All events will be advertised at Port Appin Community Co-operative and in the Oban Times; occasionally we may have to cancel meetings or change dates or times at short notice - if you are travelling some distance to attend, you are advised to telephone 01631 730309 to check details before setting out or click on this page on our website.
PROGRAMME 2010-11:
21 August 2010 - APPIN AGRICULTURAL SHOW - The 21st Blackhouse will become a cooperage attached to a distillery. If you can spare an hour during the day to help on the stand, please let the Chairman know. Publications, including the new Appin and District Visitor Guide, will be on sale.
4 September 2010 - Field trip to Shuna Island. Limited numbers: please inform Chairman if you wish to go.
18 September 2010 - New Light on Stone and Bronze Ages in Argyll and Bute: Dr Alison Sheridan. Part of the Ask the Experts lecture series for SAM. As part of Scottish Archaeology Month, National Museums Scotland and National Trust for Scotland have offered heritage groups in Scotland the chance to commission an expert talk from some of the leading archaeologists in Scotland! Co-ordinated by Archaeology Scotland for Scottish Archaeology Month. Archaeology Scotland would like to thank NMS and NTS for their generous and enthusiastic support.
