Meetings will be held on the third Saturday of the month, unless otherwise notified, from September to May and will be advertised at Port Appin Community Co-operative and in the Oban Times; occasionally we may have to cancel meetings or change dates or times at short notice - if you are travelling some distance to attend, you are advised to telephone 01631 730309 to check details before setting out or click on this page on our website.
PROGRAMME 2009-10:
15 August 2009 - APPIN AGRICULTURAL SHOW - The 21st Blackhouse will be transformed into a Victorian School and children visiting the show will be invited to experience lessons in that era. A teacher has been appointed; for further details see the 'NEWS' page. If you can spare an hour during the day to help on the stand, please let the Chairman know. Publications will be on sale.
12 September 2009 (Please note this is the second Saturday of September) - Tour of local Episcopal Churches led by Neill Malcom. Further details to follow.
24 October 2009 (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE) - 'Lighting the Future, The Preservation of Lighthouse History': Virginia Mayes Wright, Director, Museum of Scottish Lighthouses. Port Appin Hall, 2.30pm.
21 November 2009 - 'Hydro Days': Hector MacLean. Port Appin Hall, 2.30pm.
12 December 2009 - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. Dr Iain McNicol will read from the antiquarian books presented to him to mark his retirement as Appin and district's GP. Refreshments will be provided (not the usual tea and biscuits!). Port Appin Hall, 7.30pm. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE.

20 February 2010 - 'Scotland's Rural Past': Tertia Barnett, Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. Port Appin Hall, 2.30pm.
20 March 2010 - 'Genealogy': Laura Gloag. Port Appin Hall, 2.30pm.
17 April 2010 - Walk around Cuil Bay: Neill Malcolm. The walk will take approximately 3.5 hours and is fairly strenuous, but for the less energetic, it can be divided.
15 May 2010 - 'Forgotten Bishops of Lismore': Bob Hay. Port Appin Hall, 2.30pm.
